CAD Operator/Designer

CSDG, an award-winning, multi-disciplinary design firm located in Nashville, TN, is seeking a CAD Operator/Designer to join our Civil Engineering team.

Civil Engineering is the expertise that our firm was founded on. Project challenges can be simple or complex, but always require thoughtful, comprehensive design solutions.  As a key component to our multi-disciplinary process, our engineers collaborate with other team members to ensure that our civil engineering efforts are designed and implemented in a safe, functional, economical and sustainable manner.

CSDG has a broad project resume that spans a wide range of project types and sizes.  From multimillion-dollar corporate headquarters and distribution centers, to small, urban infill residential projects, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service to our clients throughout the region.  We are seeking motivated design professionals to join our team and further strengthen our capabilities as a firm.

Role Description

Internship and/or a full-time position available as a Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Operator/Designer at our Nashville office. Seeking civil minded draftspersons and designers to assist with site and land development projects to produce conceptual layout designs and carry those designs through to construction utilizing Autodesk Civil 3D for plan production.

Job Responsibilities:

• 2D drafting of site layouts like parking lots, retail centers, apartments, schools, warehouses, subdivisions, etc. using engineering parameters and zoning requirements
• 2D paperspace setup for plan production
• Exhibit and Map creation utilizing GIS shape files and imagery
• 3D Layout of utilities such as storm, sanitary, and water mains and associated profiles
• 3D Corridor modeling and/or grading techniques
• 3D Surface modeling and data analysis

Entry Level Salary with CAD experience or certification:

Intern: $20 - $25/hr

Full Time: $28 - $33/hr
